This trip was amazing but also a whirlwind of emotion! We did not have the easiest times while traveling through Morocco. There were 6 of us and ALL of us were sick at some point in time. We rode in cars for up to 12 hours multiple times to get from one city to the next, and majority of the time with zero air conditioning in 100 degree heat. I was honestly very sick of eating tagine and slowing sweating to death in the Sahara Desert. At one point, I took a cold shower for a hour to try and cool off. It was the most incredible feeling until 5 minutes after stepping outside of the shower in our tent in the desert, a wave of dry heat come over me and I about lost it. We were also there during the beginning of Ramadan and I cannot even begin to describe to you the challenges of being there during this time as well.
All of that being said, Morocco was one of the most incredible countries I have ever visited! The desert days were hot but the desert nights were SO amazing. Not IN the tents, but outside of them. If it weren’t for the sand storms outside at night along with roaming animals, I totally would have slept on one of the Moroccan rugs on the ground outside. We took our one year anniversary photos while we were there by our friend and insanely talented photographer India Earl, and we also photographed them and our friends Julie and Mark as well for fun and it made for a blast / adventurous trip! I didn’t photograph nearly as often as I should have, but enjoy some of the magic we captured and a look into our adventures!
